Hi Donald.
Just got this photo from my sister. This is the man who saved my dad's life at the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir. His name is John Burke and on the back of the photo is his name and the words Korea & Portland Oregon and the year 1949.
Since you commented on the article wanted to share this with you.
Blessings,
Isis

Well, I have a cell phone but don't know what an I-pod is. I'm sure everyone else in my family except my wife knows what it is. But if I don't know, I certainly don't miss it. Right?

Hey Donald, you're always on top of things, eh? Thanks for your latest "poetic" comment!

Donald, you are so right! Just look at the circus of our current election! The media is at fault for so many of our current problems -- then add in the propaganda machine of our executive branch, the do-nothingness of Congress and forget the Supreme court -- they're worthless too! What can we do? Immigrate, I suppose!

Hi Donald, I thought you'd have a comment on my poem "The Corporal." This one was just a bit silly! A short write foe no special reason. This was just one of my recent short one's that were inspired by I don't know what! Your's was a fine comment, since you've been there, done that -- while I haven't! Anyway, just wanted to say Hi and see how you're doing! I see you're deep in some controversial subjects, still -- guess I better get with some of those, too! Keep it up, old buddy! Bye for now!

I don't pray for peace because I think that peace will only come when people in general grow up. Praying for peace keeps us distracted from doing and concentrating on what is needed to bring about peace. It is like taking an aspirin. It makes us feel better but does nothing to cure the problem and only prevents us from "going to the doctor" and getting at the root of the problem. Your country is a great country and your people are very much like Americans. Yet here we are, bitching at each other over things beyond our control.

Thank you so very much, Donald, dear, for your kind and thoughtful comment... it's really hard to convince people who think they already know everything. The information here is sometimes controversial, but I hope for the best.
Please, pray with me for peace. ;-)
Blessings and best wishes - S.

Saw your comments on Everson Vs. Board... well spoken. Sorry you were not able to calm the hullabaloo...

As you can see from my comments on the issue, I strongly believe as you do. I will continue to put forth reasonable arguments for my position and can only hope that others will be reasonable as well. I am not intimidated by political correctness. As far as the "gay" community is concerned and their attempts to force their life style on the rest of us for acceptance, I quote Shakespeare, "Me thinks the lady doth protest too much." Thanks for you ping and support.
